CASID helps international development practitioners connect their work and the results they produce to their behavior, beliefs, capacity for self-awareness, and the growth and development of their character. CASID has created a unique model for leadership in international development that is based on spiritual relationships and the deepening wisdom of development practitioners. CASID’s research identifies the legacies created and the leadership exemplified by outstanding global citizens in international development. ART AND INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT CASID is breaking new ground. Art is a powerful form of communication and CASID is using theater, dance and visual arts to share stories of exemplary individuals in international development to the public and to stimulate conversations among Americans about the challenges of using foreign assistance to effectively address global poverty and its related problems. CASID offers workshops for artists designed to raise awareness of international issues. CASID also conducts interactive theatrical role-play exercises focused on highlighting the complexity of human interaction in the context of international development. CASID provides international development institutions opportunities to use creativity to solve problems related to project implementation and management. CASID uses art to expand the constituency of informed citizens. |
